What Men Find Sexy About Women

Image
We rounded up a group of guys to find out exactly what makes a woman sexy. Here are their candid thoughts!

1. She's Playful
Women who take themselves too seriously are seriously not sexy. There's something about a woman who is comfortable enough to be playful, flirty, and not worry that she is risking her reputation. Please don't confuse playful with silly. Silly women who are clowning for attention are vexing. In fact, one man suggested that playfulness is a great sign of maturity—a woman who loves life and isn't ashamed to show it.

2. She's Beautiful
We had a solid discussion about what this means, and the standards were all over the map. Most every man agreed that a beautiful woman a) dresses in a way that flatters her figure, b) puts effort into grooming, and c) cares how men perceive her, even if the end result is very laid-back and simple. There were few absolutes, except to say that a woman who thinks that going through the effort to look nice is somehow beneath her probably won't be sexy to our test group.

3.She's a Grown-Up About Things Related to Sex
Some men were comfortable with sex only after marriage. Some men were comfortable with it much earlier in the relationship. But all of the men wanted a woman who is comfortable talking maturely about sex when the time is right.

4. She Likes and Understands Men
You might say, "Don't all women who are dating like men?" Not according to this group. Women who know how men function and love them for it are very sexy. There's something about giving a man the rope he needs to pursue his passions that makes a woman irresistible.

5. She's Affectionate
It is hard to overestimate the impact of a physical connection to most men. A woman who understands this and gives affection freely is very sexy.

6. She Knows How to Say "Thank You"
Whatever your personal policies, early dating for most men is a time when they are spending money and making plans to arrange a nice evening. Our men greatly valued a woman who was able to say, "That dinner was fantastic," and appreciated the work that went into planning the evening. A woman who has a spirit of gratitude signals to a man, "You can make me happy," which is a primal component to attraction.

Why women are seen as sexual objects

Image
Our brains process images of men and females differently and see men as people and women as body parts, according to a new study.

When casting our eyes upon an object, our brains either perceive it in its entirety or as a collection of its parts.

The new study suggested that these two distinct cognitive processes also are in play with our basic physical perceptions of men and women - and, importantly, provides clues as to why women are often the targets of sexual objectification.

The research found in a series of experiments that participants processed images of men and women in very different ways. When presented with images of men, perceivers tended to rely more on "global" cognitive processing, the mental method in which a person is perceived as a whole. Meanwhile, images of women were more often the subject of "local" cognitive processing, or the objectifying perception of something as an assemblage of its various parts.

The study is the first to link such cognitive processes to objectification theory, said Sarah Gervais, assistant professor of psychology at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and the study's lead author.

"Local processing underlies the way we think about objects: houses, cars and so on. But global processing should prevent us from that when it comes to people," Gervais said.

"We don't break people down to their parts - except when it comes to women, which is really striking. Women were perceived in the same ways that objects are viewed," she explained.

In the study, participants were randomly presented with dozens of images of fully clothed, average-looking men and women. Each person was shown from head to knee, standing, with eyes focused on the camera.

After a brief pause, participants then saw two new images on their screen: One was unmodified and contained the original image, while the other was a slightly modified version of the original image that comprised a sexual body part. Participants then quickly indicated which of the two images they had previously seen.

The results were consistent: Women's sexual body parts were more easily recognized when presented in isolation than when they were presented in the context of their entire bodies. But men's sexual body parts were recognized better when presented in the context of their entire bodies than they were in isolation.

"We can't just pin this on the men. Women are perceiving women this way, too," Gervais said.

"It could be related to different motives. Men might be doing it because they're interested in potential mates, while women may do it as more of a comparison with themselves. But what we do know is that they're both doing it," she noted.

Would there be an antidote to a perceiver's basic cognitive processes that lead women to be reduced and objectified? Researchers said some of the study's results suggested so. When the experiment was adjusted to create a condition where it was easier for participants to employ "global" processing, the sexual body part recognition bias appeared to be alleviated. Women were more easily recognizable in the context of their whole bodies instead of their various sexual body parts.

Because the research presents the first direct evidence of the basic "global" vs. "local" framework, the authors said it could provide a theoretical path forward for more specific objectification work.

"Our findings suggest people fundamentally process women and men differently, but we are also showing that a very simple manipulation counteracts this effect, and perceivers can be prompted to see women globally, just as they do men," Gervais said.

The study has been published in the European Journal of Social Psychology.

Now, backless, strapless Bra for Big Assets

Image
A new backless, strapless adhesive bra for bigger assets has hit the market.

Renowned department store, Selfridges, is now stocking the first of its kind adhesive bras made solely out of silicone, which cost 35 pounds.

Manufacturer Fashion Forms claims the bra's one-wire system will hug the body, preventing it from slipping off and can be reused up to 25 times.

But Page 3 stunner Kelly Hall who is a huge 30DD and has tried the new bra says she would better stick to her old one.

"This is pretty much impossible. My assets are jiggling about all over the place. I may as well not wear anything at all," the Sun quoted her as saying after running wearing the bra.

"The bra sticks to your entire thing but as I become sweaty I can feel the bottom of it coming unstuck. It makes me feel nervous that it will slip off completely," she said.

"I have never been able to buy a backless, strapless bra before because of my huge size.

"The idea is great but unfortunately it wouldn't last even a night in a busy club with me pulling off my finest dance moves. And, in my opinion, it couldn't be reused 25 times.

"I think it would be fine for a dinner date or a quiet drink in your local - but for anything more physical I'll stick to my old one," the model concluded.

5 Tips to keep in mind while shopping

Make the most of this season with these quick tips before you bring out the cash.

There's no doubting the fact that the forthcoming sale season can get us all tempted to shop endlessly. But more often than not giving in to your impulses, the sale offer can create a big hole in your pocket. However, you can still be a wise shopper and make the most of this season. Here's how.

Prioritise
If you wish to but a washing machine, don't enter a home decor showroom just because it reads 50% discount. As much as we would love to pick up everything during offer time, remember that the more you stock, the more damaging it will be for your purse or wallet. Decide earlier itself what you wish to shop for. If it helps, note each thing you think is priority and immediate purchase. Remember to head to only those shops first. Wandering into shops aimlessly will only make you crave to buy more and may also have you end up spending over your budget.

Don't go overboard
So you decide to buy branded footwear for your workout and head to a popular sports shop. While investing in a branded sports shoe is always advisable for your knees and legs, keep in mind that every other accessory in the shop will be priced at a higher range. Don't fill your bags with branded socks, head bands, wrist bands and the like, just because they are in your sight. They will only get your bill pilling. Similarly, if you wish to buy one black dress, just pick that one up. Don't supplement it with a skirt, jacket and a tee. Be wise when you make your purchases.

Check for variety
If you are a lazy shopper and prefer buying whatever you need in minimal time, you might be missing out on something better. Yes, it is really convenient to get done with your shopping when you've found just what you need, but searching a little more might help you get something more than just that. Even if you liked a particular piece in the first shop you visited, check out the other stores before making your purchase. You never know how beneficial that little extra patience may prove.

Check for quality
Quite obviously, offers are the time that the quality of products is most compromised. While you go gaga over the discounted rates, ensure to check for good quality products, before your purchased product wears out in a few days. While shopping for clothes, remember to check for stains or torn areas.

Bargain
You can never completely enjoy a shopping experience if you haven't bargained. It may be for the minimal margin, but bargaining gives us a sense of assurance that we have got more for less. Many a times, shop owners hike the price of a product keeping in mind the negotiation nature of consumers. So if you avoid the bargaining process, you may actually end up spending more. Shopping is best enjoyed when you know you've got the best value for every penny you've spent. So be a wise shopper.
